Disability Awareness, Drug/Alcohol Prevention
Trooper Johnson's presentations are high impact, interactive, and entertaining.  The presentations are geared around basketball, specifically "wheelchair basketball."  This universal game is used to capture the attention of your students and drive the message home.
Trooper Johnson was paralyzed in an auto accident when he was 17 years old as a result of drinking and driving.  Johnson talks about the choices he made and how those "choices" have effected the rest of his life.

Johnson emphasizes the importance of making good choices, especially staying away from Drugs and Alcohol.  Johnson teaches the power of the word "NO" and reminds students that they should ALWAYS SAY NO to Drugs and Alcohol.

School Presentation
Through the presentation, he plays one-on-one games against students and teachers.  These games serve to demonstrate the "ABILITIES" of a person in a wheelchair, and really capture the attention of your students.  As Johnson beats the students and teachers in basketball, the students are faced with the realization that a person in a wheelchair really can do some of the same things they can.

Johnson finishes the presentation with a question and answer period and then reinforces the message that the choices they make can effect the rest of their life.

The presentations last approximately 45 minutes long and can be tailored to your class schedule.  The presentations require two elements, a basketball court - indoor or outdoor, and your students.
